Everything you need to know about Mooncut

Mooncut is a subscription-based video editing service. You submit editing requests, and your dedicated editor works on them using the hours included in your plan. Revisions are unlimited, and each one uses time from your subscription. If you run out of hours, you can buy extra hours or upgrade your plan. We also offer one-off projects, which include two hours of revisions.

Once you upload your project, tell us your deadline and we'll send you an estimated completion date within 24-48 hours. If it works for you, we're all set. If not, we'll adjust it together. More time means more room for creativity and higher quality, with no extra hours used. If you submit multiple projects, just set a priority for each one and our editors will work through them in that order.

As a guide, 8 hours of editing takes 2 business days, 16 hours takes 3 business days, and 24 hours takes 4 business days. These timelines start from the agreed start date, once we've received all the materials needed for your project.

There's no limit on how many revisions you can request. Your editor keeps refining the video until you're happy with it, and that time comes out of your plan hours, like any other editing. One-off project estimates include two extra hours for revisions.

We edit all types of video content including YouTube videos, social media content (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook), video podcasts, UGC content, product demos, tutorials, promotional videos, and more. If you can film it, we can edit it.

We accept all major video file formats including MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV, and more. We can also work with footage from any camera or device. If you have a specific format requirement, just let us know and we'll accommodate it.

Yes! There are no long-term contracts. You can cancel your subscription at any time, as long as it's at least 5 business days before your next billing date. If you cancel, you'll still have access to the service until the end of your current billing period.

Yes, for up to one month. Let your project manager know before your next billing date and we'll pause your plan.

If a month runs long, you can add top-up hours directly in your client portal: 5 hours for $150, 10 hours for $275, 15 hours for $375, or 20 hours for $500. You can also upgrade to the next plan whenever you need to and just pay the difference.

You can subscribe on any date. Your plan renews on that same date each month.

Yes. From day one, you have a dedicated editor who learns your brand, style, and preferences, so you don't have to explain them again on every project. If your editor is ever away, a backup editor steps in, so your projects never get put on hold.

Your editor is part of a team of three: a producer who checks every video before it reaches you, and a project manager who handles communication and keeps your deadlines on track.

Just fill out a short form and add a link to your footage from any cloud storage service, like Google Drive, Dropbox, or WeTransfer. Include your editing instructions, reference videos, and any specific requirements, and we'll take care of the rest.

Yes, as an optional add-on. AI is never applied without your request. When activated, it can be used for scene generation, transition frames, interior renders, music creation, dubbing, and footage quality enhancement. All AI outputs are reviewed by our editors before delivery.

Reviewing footage, editing, and revisions all count toward your hours. Creative thinking time does not — we don't bill for that so editors can take the time they need. Editors manually log time when they start working on your project.

You're charged only the difference between your current and new plan, not the full price on top. On your next renewal, you'll be billed at the upgraded rate. Need to go back down? Just let us know at least 5 days before your renewal date.

Yes. You can send us a project at any stage — whether you've started editing and want us to finish, or you want us to start and you'll finish. Just let us know your preference when you submit.

Yes. We can sign an NDA before work begins and ensure all editors assigned to your projects are informed of the confidentiality requirements.

Yes. We can work with your music subscription (Artlist, MusicBed, etc.) or use music you provide directly. This is often the simplest way to avoid copyright issues and keep your channel fully covered.

We keep footage for 6 to 9 months after a project is complete. If you need longer storage, we offer an extended option: up to 1 TB for a full year, organized within our existing folder structure, for $350/year. Just let your project manager know and we'll get it set up.

Yes. Our editors perform full color correction and grading. You can provide LUTs, references, or style examples. We're experienced with all major log formats including S-Log3, C-Log, V-Log, Blackmagic, HLG, and R3D.
